About Between Desks

In Between Desks, you're a student trying to cheat through four retake exams. Copy your classmates, avoid the supervisor, then rush back to your seat to finish! Don't get caught away from your chair!

Controls (keyboard - gamepad)

• Move: W A S D - Left Stick
• Look: Mouse - Right Stick
• Open pause menu: Escape - Start
• Copy: E - Button West
• Switch Camera: C - Right Shoulder

Tools used

• Prefabs: used for desks, students, chairs, and the teacher to quickly instantiate classroom layouts.
• New input system: used to handle player movement and interactions (copying, switching camera) in a clean and flexible way.
• Unity UI (Canvas) + TextMeshPro: used for the answer sheet display, copy progress, and menus to ensure clear and high-quality text.
• NavMesh + Pathfinding: ensures the teacher can reach the player realistically and that all desks are reachable.
• Coroutines: used for the copying timer, countdowns between levels, and feedback effects.
• Animation (Animator + Controller): player, teacher, and NPC have movements, and gestures, to provide more human animations.
• Audio system (AudioSource + clips): used to give sound feedback when copying, winning, getting spotted by the teacher, as well as a background music.
• Particles / Visual feedback: adds juiciness when copying, getting caught, or completing a level.
